Waterstate

Commissioned by GoedeStede, VDNDP as architect realized the plan Waterstate in cooperation with Koopmans. VDNDP has been involved since the feasibility study and have taken care of the entire design process and technical elaboration. Waterstate is a complex of 28 senior apartments, located in the Waterwijk in Almere. From the outside, the project is characterized by the staggered windows, different masonry patterns and continuous facade bands. The balconies at the corners of the building are staggered and are part of these facade bands. Because of the prominent place the building will have within the existing environment, it will form the entrance to the Water District. Great care was taken to connect to the existing environment and to preserve the spatial quality around the building. By working closely with other consultants and using a 3D BIM model, we had a very smooth engineering process. In this we laid the ideal foundation for a good execution. Construction of Waterstate started in 2022 and will be completed in 2023.
