Transformation Hofkeshuis in Almelo

VDNDP provided the permit drawings for the municipality of Almelo for the internal renovation of the National Monumental building in the center of Almelo. The property is a former mansion from 1773 and is known as the Hofkeshuis and possesses 'the hidden treasure of Almelo'. This hidden treasure involves a large mural on linen canvases in one of the rooms upstairs. It was a nice challenge for us to first map the existing situation through 360° video images, various measurements and the available archive drawings of the building, after which the incorporation of the new desired layout could begin. The building was until recently used as a store with upstairs apartment, Because of the future function, a new staircase entrance with elevator was incorporated and at the rear of the property, adjustments were also proposed for a better layout of the space.
