Merwedekanaalzone Block 2a consists of 12 buildings, each with its own identity and appearance. Each building has its own materials, colors, and design principles. A total of 289 homes have been designed in the private rental sector, each with its own outdoor space. VDNDP's role is to develop the technical design and implementation-ready design using BIM models and accompanying drawings.
In addition to the 289 homes, the Merwedekanaalzone plan, block 2a, includes community facilities, restaurants, commercial services, sports facilities, a public bicycle parking facility, and bicycle parking facilities for residents.
VDNDP's role is to develop the Technical Design and Implementation-ready Design usingBIM models and accompanying drawings. We work closely with Trebbe and its partners.
Block 2a is one large block divided into 12 different buildings, each with its own identity and appearance.
The use of materials, colors, and façade composition give the buildings their own identity while maintaining a continuous urban fabric. The rich palette of façade materials consists of brick, natural stone, aluminum, wood, sheet material, and profiled steel sheet.
Strengthening social connections in the courtyard garden: a characteristic feature of Block 2 is the central patio in the courtyard garden with surrounding communal facilities, such as workspaces, sports facilities, and bicycle parking for residents. Strengthening the social connection between residents and local residents is central to the design of the courtyard garden.
In addition to Block 2a, VDNDP is also actively involved in Merwedekanaalzone Block 1a.
