On the Elzenhagensingel in Amsterdam North, a plan with housing and residential buildings is being developed by Ymere. Commissioned by Ymere, VDNDP has developed the design of the architect, in collaboration with the contractor, from the TO phase into an implementation-ready design.
Block 3 was designed by NwA Architecten and realized by HSB Bouw. It is a residential building with 59 rental apartments in 8 floors. There will be apartments for 1 and 2 person households and for small families. The apartments range in living area from 35 to 75 m2. All homes have an outdoor space.
Before delivery, we visited the construction site. During this visit, together with the contractor, we paid special attention to conscious and unconscious differences between the UO and what was realized. This way we learn together what can be improved in a next collaboration.
Sustainability is important
The building will have a green facade and rainwater storage. There will be solar panels on the roof and energy-efficient versions of all installations.
Elzenhagen-South was previously an outdoor sports area. Now it will be a green, car-free residential area with a beautifully designed public space. The residential buildings stand free in a public park-like area.
