In 2020, we embarked on a challenging engineering project in Breda. The project, known as 5TRACKS, involved three buildings located between the train station and the courthouse. VDNDP was commissioned by and collaborated with JP van Eesteren to develop the Building engineer and the 3D BIM model. The 5TRACKS project won the Architectenweb award for “Office Building of the Year 2025.”
Architectenweb award for ‘Office Building of the Year 2025’.

The plan of 5TRACKS consists of a mix of 5 functions (hotel, offices, residential, park and facilities) distributed in 3 buildings set in a green park on the railroad tracks.
Together, the buildings have a surface area of about 50,000 m². A common plinth and a green roof garden should provide connection between the three buildings.
The 5TRACKS plan has a strong sustainability ambition. This includes the use of WKO (heat and cold storage), the compact footprint and the roof landscape above the parking facility. Greenery is essential for pleasant living in the city.
On the 5TRACKS project, our engineering team collaborated with our client J.P. van Eesteren, Van Dijnsen Installaties BV, IMd Raadgevende Ingenieurs, Techniplan Adviseurs LBP.
