As a Building engineer at VDNDP, you are the bridge between design and its manufacturability. You investigate exactly how a design is put together and how to make it. You work together on a wide range of projects: from ground-level houses to large apartment complexes. From detail to overview, we cleverly design a design that is both beautiful and manufacturable.
A project starts with the first sketch from another architect or design partner. You develop this into a complete 3D model in Revit. First you explore the possibilities very well by creating detail fragments. These bring together all the special points of a project. You often create several variants, because there are perhaps 5 ways to realize the architect 's image. It's up to you to make those ways clear.
You always work in a team with a project leader, the specification expert and possibly fellow construction engineers. Together you will work on the most beautiful projects. We provide a good start in which you get acquainted with our way of working. A buddy helps you with this. As a project progresses, you will have more contact with contractors and other parties. You will grow in your role and will be given more responsibility if desired.
"My role varies from project to project. Sometimes I am lead modeler and develop detail fragments, researching how to model everything. Other times I step in in the middle of a project. Then I am responsible for details while a colleague creates the model." - Theresia van Koppensenior Building engineer)
