Project Pauwenhof is located near our office in Zaandam. The project includes 43 homes of which 29 are owner-occupied homes and 14 are life-capacity free sector rental homes. VDNDP provided the engineering from the DO to the UO phase, in collaboration with KBK.
The architect Bureau SLA) aimed to create a living environment that would be pleasant for both older people and families. This resulted in the Pauwenhof, with 29 family homes and 14 senior citizen homes, and a typology that goes beyond the terraced house.
The "courtyard homes" consist of one and a half floors with a bedroom on the ground floor for seniors. In addition, there are three-story family homes, situated next to a park with playground equipment. This makes Pauwenhof an attractive project for different stages of life and lifestyles.
Despite the different typologies, the neighborhood has a uniform appearance with common detailing. The brick facades have been carefully designed with high-quality brick in two brickwork patterns. An architectural detail has been chosen and implemented in the various buildings to connect them. This can be seen in the continuous concrete bands.
The project was completed in July 2023.
In addition to engineering, VDNDP incorporated the chosen buyer options for Pauwenhof into the models and drawing work. This was the first project VDNDP worked on together with KBK Bouwgroep has developed. We look back on a pleasant cooperation!
VDNDP also prepared the specification matrix (part of the methodology of specifying) for Pauwenhof before starting the Building engineer elaboration. Here we discussed the starting points and outstanding issues together with KBK. This gave us a good basis for starting with the Building engineer .
'When you start a work as a construction team with a client and work it out in a model from the beginning, I certainly believe that this methodology is of great value. Especially to establish starting points, but also to take a client along in the bottlenecks and focal points where decisions have to be made.'
