The Bund

The De Bund building consists of two residential towers with a variety of both rental and for-sale apartments, each with a vibrant public plinth. Both roofs of the low-rise will be provided with greenery and collective (outdoor) space and interconnected by a footbridge. The active plinth provides space for business activity that should enhance the vibrant character of Katendrecht. Katendrecht is located in the oldest part of the port of Rotterdam and is undergoing the long transformation from a rough harbor area to a residential and living environment, with a high urban density. From 2010, ambitions have been expressed to make Katendrecht the hippest part of the city.

Commissioned by KCAP, we created the technical design. This in collaboration with Van Wijnen Dordrecht.We were involved in this project right from the VO stage in order to prevent re-work in later (more technical) phases. At the start of this assignment, we began by analyzing the starting pieces supplied by KCAP and then optimized the details. From there, we adapted KCAP's 3D model, incorporating input from the contractor and suppliers while incorporating plan modifications. We thus converted this model into a full TO model, from which we pulled sales documents and counting statements in addition to the regular technical drawing work.
