• Cadiz - Almere Duin

In the new Duin district in Almere, Amvest is developing 110 apartments for the social sector. Originally, the building was designed as an office building. Because the need for housing is much greater, the plan was redesigned by Klunder Architects.

110 apartments for the social rental sector

At the time of the function change from office to apartments, the foundation and parking garage, which were based on the office building, were already under construction. Above that, the entire plan had to be redesigned. Where old meets new were structural and engineering challenges to come up with a good solution. Apartments mean a lot of shafts that had a significant impact on the underlying parking basement already under construction. We converted the environmental permit for Koopmans into a technical design and later developed it into an execution-ready design. We also supported both Koopmans and Klunder architects in the aesthetic guidance by checking the pieces made by suppliers, including the window frames, HSB, precast balcony slabs, etc..
